Bundesliga team Hertha BSC is apparently facing a record transfer, according to the newspaper “Bild-Zeitung”. The capital club allegedly agreed on a commitment with Dodi Lukebakio of FC Watford.
The 21-year-old Belgian, loaned to Fortuna Düsseldorf last season, is to receive a five-year contract without a withdrawal clause. Only the transfer fee is not yet agreed between the Berliners and the Premier League club.
Hertha is said to have already submitted an offer for the offensive player in the amount of 20 million euros including possible bonus payments. The previous record obligation is striker Davie Selke, who came in summer 2017 for about 8.5 million euros from RB Leipzig.
In the past season, the U21 national player in Düsseldorf was instrumental in maintaining his class with ten goals in 31 league games. Last November he scored all three goals for the Fortuna at the 3:3 victory at Bayern Munich.
