Leipzig worries about Werner deployment

Published on

RB Leipzig is worried about goal scorer Timo Werner before the Bundesliga game with VfL Wolfsburg. According to coach Julian Nagelsmann, the national striker is complaining about muscular problems in his left rear thigh. “I don’t know if he will be available this weekend,” Nagelsmann said on Thursday. A stress test is to determine whether he will be available for the trip to Wolfsburg. Last week, Werner had already had limited training due to complaints in his thigh, but had nevertheless been up against Leverkusen.

Again, Nagelsmann can fall back on Konrad Laimer and Tyler Adams. Laimer was absent against Leverkusen because of a yellow lock, and he also had shoulder complaints. These have not yet completely subsided, but in Nagelsmann’s opinion there is nothing to prevent him from playing in Wolfsburg. “It will do us good to have him there,” says the coach.
