Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich will miss Arjen Robben after the end of his career. He would be very happy about a comeback of the Dutchman at FC Bayern, in whatever function. “I don’t know if he wants to come back, but I would never close the door,” he said at the premiere of Toni Kroos’ new film in Munich.
Kimmich stressed the enormous importance of Robben for the Munich team: “As a player, you knew that when Arjen was on the pitch, there was someone who really wanted to win the game. He has decided very, very many close games for Bavaria. He has won titles with his goals.”
Robben had “shaped” FC Bayern and thus prepared it for a new generation: “We players, who joined the team, laid down in the made-up bed. We have to go our own way now.” Robben played for FC Bayern from 2009 to 2019, Kimmich joined in summer 2015.

Bayern Munich’s U17 coach Miroslav Klose has explained why he will not take over the U19 for the time being. “It was all about my person. I want to learn, I’m not ready yet,” said the former striker during the presentation of the film by ex-Bavarian player Toni Kroos in Munich.
Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic would have liked Klose to move up into the U19, but he clearly rejected it. In the meantime ex-pro Martin Demichelis could be won as the new coach of the A-youth. “I’ve always been honest with myself. And when I say I’m not ready yet, it’s just honest,” Klose filed.
Internally there are said to have been lively discussions, but in the end Klose prevailed: “When it comes to me personally, I want to plan my coaching career, as I have done in my football career.” It is now clear that he will be responsible for the U17 for at least another year.
FC Bayern Munich welcomed Hansi Flick to Säbener Straße for the first time on Thursday. Niko Kovac’s new co-trainer was observed by a photographer from the Bild newspaper as he walked through the facility with team manager Kathleen Krüger and visited the fitness rooms, among other things.
According to the picture, Flick began his work with a first trainer session in which the preparation was planned. Flick and Kovac are said to have met in Munich in mid-June to finalise the cooperation. At that time, ideas about the squad and the game philosophy were also exchanged.
Flick, confirmed FCB President Uli Hoeneß about two weeks ago, will become Niko Kovac’s co-coach for the new season, on a par with his brother Robert Kovac. From 2006 to 2014, he was co-trainer of Joachim Löw at the DFB before briefly trying his hand in management at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
