Bundesliga: KHR: The stand at Sane, Havertz, Werner

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge of FC Bayern Munich has confirmed his interest in Leroy Sane of Manchester City and Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen. The Chairman of the Management Board also addressed the personal details of Timo Werner, Jerome Boateng and Renato Sanches.

“First the player must decide where he sees his future,” Rummenigge said in the SportBild about a possible transfer of Sane. After the interest of the FCB was last made public, some national players lured their teammates to Munich.

But Rummenigge stressed: “A transfer is always a tri-party business.” According to SportBild, the Sanes family has a tendency to move to Munich, while his team of consultants is also considering an extension to Manchester City. The redemption would probably amount to around 85 million euros.

Meanwhile FC Bayern has no contact with Havertz. However, on Bayer Leverkusen: “Weeks ago I had a conversation with Rudi Völler out of interest.” Rummenigge, however, sees no urgency, especially since Völler told him that the works eleven would definitely not let Havertz move in the summer of 2019.

“I don’t know if Kai Havertz will play in Munich one day. I’m no friend of pre-determining things when there’s 12 months in between. Kai Havertz is a good player, we don’t need to talk about that. But he has a contract until 2022,” Rummenigge summarized.

Werner’s status has not changed in the meantime. FC Bayern, according to Rummenigge, is interested, but could also strike in 2020 without a replacement: “My relationship with Oliver Mintzlaff is good, I said to him seven or eight weeks ago: “If we have a serious interest in Timo Werner, I will approach him”.

With a view to possible exits, Rummenigge would like to hold on to Sanches. “The coach is basically very pleased with him,” he said, but also pointed to the will of the player. Meanwhile Boateng wants to stay, but should leave: “I think we have to find a serious and fair solution for both sides”.
