KHR taunts Hummels and BVB

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge once again commented on the departure of Mats Hummels from BVB at the presentation of Bavaria’s newcomer Lucas Hernandez. The Chairman of the Board of Management did not let it be missed to set a point against Borussia.

The 63-year-old said at the press conference on Monday, referring to the central defender: “I read that the best German central defender would no longer play for Bayern. I don’t see it that way. The best German central defender plays for Bavaria – and also for the national team, by the way.”

This was Rummenigge’s allusion to Niklas Süle, who, together with newcomer Hernandez, will form the Munich defence centre in the coming season. Borussia Dortmund’s Sports Director Michael Zorc had recently stressed that Hummels was the best German central defender in his view.

In addition to Rummenigge, President Uli Hoeneß also fired against Borussia Dortmund recently. The 67-year-old, for example, questioned the quality of the new arrivals of the Schwarz-Geben.
