Kevin Volland leaves Bayer Leverkusen and joins AS Monaco. The forward has signed a long-term contract with the new club of ex-Bavarian coach Niko Kovac.

Former international Kevin Volland moves from Bayer Leverkusen to French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco with coach Niko Kovac. Most recently, speculation had been made about a redemption of 20 million euros for the ex-Hoffenheimer.

The 28-year-old receives a four-year contract with Monegasse with a term until 30 June 2024. Volland had moved from TSG Hoffenheim to Werksklub in 2016.

“Kevin has shown great identification with Bayer 04 in recent years. His willingness and commitment to the team and the club have always been exemplary,” said Bayer Sports Director Simon Rolfes. When Volland was given the opportunity to “go abroad to an attractive club, we met his desire for a change on the basis of a mutually satisfactory agreement,” Rolfes said.
