Jovic: “Other leagues suit me better”

The sought-after goalscorer Luka Jovic of Eintracht Frankfurt does not see the Bundesliga as his optimal league. “After my experiences in the Europa League, I would say that some other leagues in Europe fit me better – my way of playing football,” the Serb told the Welt am Sonntag.

“The Bundesliga is already very demanding in terms of a professional’s physique. But after the matches against Chelsea or Inter Milan, I personally felt that I could feel even more comfortable in the Premier League or Serie A. I was very happy with the results. The way the teams play there suits me better,” the attacker continued.

The 21-year-old had recently been repeatedly associated with a move to Real Madrid, but according to recent media reports, the transfer has burst.

Jovic is confident that he will be able to switch to a top club: “I’m looking forward to seeing my level in comparison with the best players in the world. One thing is clear: I want to be successful in my career,” said the striker.

As a 19-year-old, Jovic moved from Lisbon to Frankfurt in the summer of 2017 and celebrated his DFB Cup victory with Eintracht last summer.

In the past Bundesliga season the attacker scored 17 goals, in the Europa League he scored ten goals in 14 games. His contract with Eintracht runs until 2023.
