Hacker uncovers: Pep wanted BVB star and de Ligt

An employee of an IT company has revealed that he hacked the email account of Pep Guardiola and tracked the correspondence of the Manchester City team manager. In the process, he allegedly also gained insight into the Sky Blues’ transfer plans.

According to this, Pep had considered buying the former Ajax talent Matthijs de Ligt and the long-time BVB defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos between 2017 and summer 2018. Sokratis eventually moved to FC Arsenal in 2018, while de Ligt moved to Juventus Turin in 2019 for 85 million euros.

Cracking the account was the “easiest” thing he had ever done in this area, the IT specialist reveals in an interview with “Sun”. The opportunity presented itself when he worked for Manchester City in 2017.
