FC Schalke 04 could hand over Breel Embolo to Borussia Mönchengladbach according to a WAZ report. The foals should have serious interest in the 22-year-old. Due to the existing contract until 2021, a redemption would be due, the amount of which, however, is not mentioned in the report.
Embolo moved from FC Basel to Gelsenkirchen in the summer of 2016 and cost around 26.5 million euros. This makes the Swiss the most expensive new member in the history of the association. However, he could never shoulder this backpack in a sporty way. Also due to several injuries he only did 61 races for S04 so far.
In his first season, Embolo suffered a fracture of his ankle and fibula and had to pause for almost a year. In November 2018 Embolo broke his foot and was only able to intervene again in March 2019. He scored six goals last season and scored a total of twelve goals in his S04 jersey.
Suat Serdar from FC Schalke 04 admitted on the sidelines of the U21 European Championship that he had changed to FC Schalke 04 with different expectations: “I didn’t imagine the season on Schalke to be like this, we actually wanted to play at the top. According to a report in Bild, FC Schalke 04 has ended its search for a new sports director for the time being. One of the reasons for this is that the candidates Markus Krösche, Horst Heldt and Christoph Metzelder did not win or cancelled the contract for various reasons.
For the time being, S04 will probably perform with the trio consisting of coach David Wagner, sports director Jochen Schneider and squad planner Michael Reschke. The kicker had reported similar things recently.

Jobst sent a clear message to the squad: “We know that we can only survive in this tough Bundesliga competition if every single one of us gives 100 percent for our club every day. The one who is not ready has no chance of a future with FC Schalke 04.”
