Fortuna Düsseldorf has engaged attacker Nana Ampomah of the Belgian first league team Waasland-Beveren. The Rhinelanders announced on Thursday that the 23-year-old Ghanaian signed a three-year contract.

Both clubs agreed not to disclose the transfer modalities. According to media reports, the transfer will amount to four million euros. This would make Ampomah the new record purchase of the Fortune.

“Nana Ampomah is a fast, double-footed and tricky player for the offensive outside,” said Lutz Pfannenstiel, Fortuna’s Sports Director: “We have watched him several times and are convinced that after his strong last season in the Belgian Jupiler League he will make a lasting impression in the Bundesliga as well.

Last season Ampomah scored eight goals in 30 league games and prepared seven goals. All in all, he has 84 appearances in the highest Belgian league.
