The German record champion Bayern Munich said goodbye to the summer break with a narrow victory against the district league team SpVgg Lindau. Without the outgoing stars Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery the team of coach Niko Kovac won in front of 8000 spectators 4:2 (2:1). The relaxed game took place on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the club from Lake Constance.

Only a late own goal from Daniel Fritzler (82nd) and a goal from Kingsley Coman (89th) secured the victory for the Bavarians. Previously, the Munich team had lost a 2-0 lead by Resul Türkkalesi (22nd) and Paul Will (25th).

The amateurs from Lindau did not only earn recognition through their courageous appearance: “If it’s not two figures in the half time, the players get a bonus,” club president Werner Mang had said before the kick-off at Sky.

In Bavaria, the pros Sven Ulreich, Niklas Süle, Alphonso Davies, Corentin Tolisso and Serge Gnabry were in the starting eleven. The team was completed with six promotion heroes from the second team, which will play next season again in the 3rd league. After the break Mats Hummels, Joshua Kimmich, Coman and Renato Sanches came onto the field.
