All clear for Kingsley Coman: The French offensive player from Bayern Munich “only” received a severe knee bruise in the Audi Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur (5:6 in penalty shootout). That was the result of an investigation on Thursday.
According to Bayern, the 23-year-old will probably be able to start training again on Friday and is therefore also an option for the Supercup duel at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (8.30 pm live on DAZN).
Coman was injured in the cabin shortly after his substitution in the second half after a foul by Spur defender Juan Foyth.
“He’s been hit on the knee or calf, it’s painful. If you lie on the ground and your opponent’s whole body weight falls on it, it hurts,” said Bayern coach Niko Kovac at the press conference after the match. “But I don’t think it’s that bad, and he’ll be back in the next few days.”
