As the Südwestpresse reported on Friday evening with reference to an insider, the change from Leipzig attacker Timo Werner to FC Bayern Munich is imminent. Werner’s consultant Karlheinz Förster denied an agreement at the request of SOCCERSCORE and Goal.
“I was surprised myself when I read that,” said Förster, then he pushed: “I don’t know anything about it. ” Nor did he know how such a report had come about. In the past months Werner had been repeatedly associated with a transfer to the German record champion.
RB Managing Director Oliver Mintzlaff had recently stated in an interview with the Bild newspaper that a decision would be made in the Werner case before the start of the season. “It is desirable that we have a solution before the start of the league. We can and will keep this timing.”
Mintzlaff added: “We are in constructive and good talks that will lead to a result. We have submitted a contract offer to Timo and his consultant, we stand by it and we don’t have to improve it.” Werner’s contract with the Saxons is still valid until 2020.
