Fredi Bobic has warned Eintracht Frankfurt’s newcomer Martin Hinteregger against further alcohol escapades. The understanding for the player, however, is quite present on the part of the manager.
“He’s a good boy – but things like that, he has to be a little careful. Nowadays everything is being recorded,” Bobic said about Martin Hinteregger at RTL after winning 2-1 against Flora Tallinn in qualifying for the Europa League. This had recently been filmed in Austria with a high alcohol content.
At that time Hinteregger was still a player of FC Augsburg, meanwhile the desired transfer to Frankfurt could be realized. “Of course the video also played a certain role,” Bobic admitted, but pointed out that FCA had been ready to talk before.
Bobic stressed that Frankfurt had behaved fairly in the talks: “We didn’t provoke anything. With Augsburg, we have found a solution where everyone saves face.”
The manager had a good understanding for the player. “I was a player myself, we had a team evening once,” he classified, although he couldn’t approve of the action: “At the end of the day, he’s with us. He’ll submit, don’t worry.”
