Does Bavaria have to let Thiago go at a bargain price?

FC Bayern would have liked to be extended with midfielder Thiago. But the Spaniard is looking for a new challenge and wants to leave the record champion. Two clubs seem to have the nose in the race for the game designer right now.

Does FC Bayern have to make financial cuts in the event of a Thiago sale? The “kicker” believes that the agreement between the Spaniard and an English top club, suspected by Uli Hoeneß, could have negative consequences.

In this case, the record champion “would either have to accept a lower offer than the desired 30 million euros and quickly have a replacement on hand, or put a stop to the change – associated with the risk of having to have the Spaniard pulled free of charge after the contract ends in 2021.”

Hardly imaginable that FC Bayern would prefer the latter scenario…

Update Sep 13, 2020 – 01:31 PM

Honorary President Uli Hoeneß of FC Bayern describes the current state of Thiago poker as a “difficult situation”. In the “Sport1″double pass Hoeneß stated that he believed that Thiago “had obviously agreed with Liverpool or Manchester United or both”.

Hoeneß continues: “Both clubs are bluffing now, nobody has officially approached Bavaria Munich yet. It’s not a style, in my opinion. They’re trying to blackmail us by waiting until last week and then knocking out a cheap offer.”

Then “one has to ask oneself at FC Bayern whether one likes this or whether one just says that he has to stay. That will be three weeks until October 5th.”
