Dispute between Favre & Players

Published on

After Borussia Dortmund lost 4-2 to FC Schalke 04, Roman Bürki has reported disagreements between the players and coach Lucien Favre regarding tactics in standard situations.

“We players have always made arguments to make a difference. We also involved the trainer. But at some point we run out of arguments. Maybe we’re just not good enough,” Keeper Roman Bürki told SportBild.

Schalkes Salif Sane had started the Dortmund defeat with a header after one corner. Dortmund already scored a total of twelve goals according to standards this season. At corners the Borussia defends under Favre with a space cover.

“I won’t admit anything more, I’ve done it often enough. Now others have to see that for once. It upsets me, but I don’t get upset in the game anymore. That’s not worth the energy to me,” Bürki explained.

Despite the weakness in standards, Bürki has not yet given up on the title: “I still believe in it. Bavaria still has two difficult games against Leipzig and Frankfurt. If they drop points again and we win, we’re back.”
