PSV coach wants to fulfil contract in Eindhoven

Roger Schmidt will not succeed head coach Jesse Marsch, who was given leave of absence at RB Leipzig on Sunday

The preferred candidate of the RB management around managing director Oliver Mintzlaff instead wants to fulfil his contract at PSV Eindhoven, which runs until the end of the season. The club is currently in third place in the Eredivisie, two points behind leaders Ajax Amsterdam. In addition, Real Sociedad San Sebastian will play their decisive group match in the Europa League on Thursday.

Domenico Tedesco, who is out of contract, and Edin Terzic, who is employed by Borussia Dortmund as technical director, are considered possible candidates. In Tuesday’s Champions League match against Manchester City, Marsch’s current assistant Achim Beierlorzer is expected to lead the team. However, the Frenchman, who was absent on Friday in the 1:2 defeat at Union Berlin just like Marsch due to a positive Coronatest, still has to “clear his mind” for this.
