Curiosities: BVB star Reus in the DFB’s sights

Published on

Captain Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund is threatened with a fine for unusual reasons. As the DFB confirmed on Monday, the control committee has started an investigation because the red-barred Reus had sat during the match at Werder Bremen on Saturday (2:2) contrary to the regulations on a chair next to the BVB bank.

“In the first step, the club or the player were contacted and invited to comment on the process,” the DFB stated. Now “as usual, the further course of the proceedings” had to be awaited.

After his red card in the derby against Schalke 04 (2:4) Reus will also have to miss out against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday (15.30/Liveticker). On the last matchday at Borussia Mönchengladbach, the 29-year-old is again eligible to play.

Marco Reus scored 16 goals in the current Bundesliga season alone and prepared eight more.
