Bundesliga: Cologne probably gets midfielder Verstraete

The 1. FC Cologne has apparently found what they were looking for in the defensive midfield. According to unanimous Belgian media reports, Birger Verstraete is to move from KAA Ghent to Cologne and receive a four-year contract from FC until 30 June 2023.

Verstraete, who made his debut for the Belgian national team in September 2018, is said to have already completed the medical check. There was no confirmation from the clubs on Monday at first. Verstraete has so far only played for Belgian clubs, in January 2017 he signed a contract until 30 June 2020 in Ghent.
