Borussia Dortmund centre-back Manuel Akanji has praised Newcastle United’s Joelinton for his performance in last season’s Bundesliga match between 1899 Hoffenheim and BVB (1-1).
When asked who was the toughest opponent in his career, the 24-year-old answered in an exclusive interview with SOCCERSCORE and Goal: “Last season Joelinton von Hoffenheim was very good. He was technically good, fast, physically strong. He really played well against us and scored a goal.”
Joelinton moved this summer from TSG Hoffenheim to the Magpies in the Premier League for 44 million euros. In the past season, the 22-year-old Brazilian had scored eleven goals in 35 competitive matches.
