Borussia Dortmund could lose Abdou Diallo this summer. The defender thinks about a change and speaks positively to Paris Saint-Germain. Meanwhile the jersey sales are running dazzling. I don’t think Ianis Hagi’s coming. Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.
Borussia Dortmund’s Abdou Diallo spoke about his future in an interview with the French sports newspaper L’Equipe. This does not necessarily seem to lie with the BVB: “I don’t want to make a big fuss. We must see if the vision is still the same.”
According to the picture, besides Olympique Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain is also interested in the central defender. The 23-year-old described PSG as a “nice project” and stated that he found the club quite interesting. But a decision had not been made, nor had the club told him not to plan with him any more.
“I’m waiting to see, to hear what people have to say to me, what they think of me,” Diallo filed. He welcomed the transfer of Mats Hummels, although it means more internal competition: “He is a historical player of the club, of the country. He’ll give us experience.”
The TV channel Sky had recently reported that Diallo wanted to change. As the protal transfermarkt.de reports, however, he did not submit a change request to the sports leadership.
The fact that Diallo had to act primarily as a left-back in the second half of the season because of the injury was “frustrating” for him, “because you want to play the big games in a position where you can act best. I’m a central defender. Some games on the wing are okay. But over several seasons, this is not my project.”
Diallo only joined BVB from Mainz last summer and is still the second most expensive transfer in the history of the club. His contract with the Black Yellow runs until 2023.
Borussia Dortmund has sold more jerseys in the past season than expected. 550,000 units were sold, as Managing Director Carsten Cramer confirmed to the Ruhrnachrichten. Sales for the new jersey are already 50 percent higher than at the same time in 2018: “This has exceeded our expectations. It reflects the good mood and anticipation around the BVB that can be felt everywhere.”
The flock with Marco Reus was the most sought after. This is a trend that is already showing itself again. The new home jersey has been on sale for about two months now, with Reus dominating the figures: “He’s the clear number one”. According to Cramer, Mario Götze and Jadon Sancho follow directly behind.
Returner Mats Hummels could soon mix up the trio, though, he “runs very well.” For the new season, the BVB had made an important change to its own back. Between the shoulder blades now stands “Dortmund”, the player’s name was placed under the number: “We found that justified, because the city, the club is the core message of the jersey.”
Borussia Dortmund could be left empty-handed in the advertising for Ianis Hagi circulated by the media. According to Sport.ro, the midfielder of FC Viitorul is about to change to FC Sevilla. At the U21 European Championship in Italy, Hagi had drawn attention to himself with strong performances and had subsequently also been traded at the BVB.
“Big clubs, very big clubs” were interested in his son, father Gheorghe Hagi told Telekom Sport. A decision is to be made in the next few days.
BVB would not be able to guarantee playing practice in the offensive midfield in view of the competition from Marco Reus and Julian Brandt. Hagi can also switch to both wings, but there are also several well-known players like Jadon Sancho, Thorgan Hazard or Jacob Bruun Larsen.
