Boateng: Great interest from Italy?

Inter Milan allegedly have great interest in central defender Jerome Boateng of FC Bayern Munich. That’ll write the picture on Monday.

According to the report, the FCB would probably charge at least EUR 20 million for Boateng, who was absent on Saturday after winning the championship and was the only player absent from the evening’s championship.

Boateng was Bayern’s number three central defender this season behind Niklas Süle and Mats Hummels. Despite a contract until 2021, it is almost certain that the 30-year-old will leave Säbener Strasse in summer. Already last year Boateng had stood shortly before a change to Paris Saint-Germain.

Now he could be drawn to the Italian Serie A instead of France. However, the competition at Inter’s defence centre would also be fierce. Milan Skriniar has just extended his contract, while Stefan de Vrij, Miranda and Andrea Ranocchia are three more central defenders in the Nerazzurri squad. Diego Godin, who recently announced officially that he would leave Atletico Madrid, is also expected to arrive.

Boateng has been wearing the FCB jersey since 2011, when he came from Manchester City for 13.5 million euros. So far, the Berlin-born player has played a total of 286 compulsory games for Bavaria.
