Beckenbauer wants Klopp as Bayern coach

Following FC Liverpool’s victory in the Champions League, Franz Beckenbauer has once again described coach Jürgen Klopp as a dream solution for Bayern Munich.

“I wish for nothing more than that one day he will come to FC Bayern,” Beckenbauer (73) told the Bild newspaper. The honorary president of the record champion finds, “that would fit. For me, he’s one of the world’s best coaches.” Klopp, however, still has a contract with the Reds until the end of June 2022.

Beckenbauer also confirmed, as in March before the second leg of the Round of 16 between Bavaria and Liverpool, that Klopp had brought “the new football” to Germany. “Fast switching game, using fast players to attack the opponent. It replaced the tough ball attachment. What he started in Dortmund, he refined in Liverpool,” he said.

Beckenbauer also considers the work in the English Premier League even more exhausting than in the Bundesliga. “I believe a job in England will rob you of your powers. As a so-called manager at a Premier League club, you have even more responsibility,” said Beckenbauer. In addition, there would be a higher number of games. Klopp had reacted very flattered to the praise in March.
