Because of Sane statements: Bayern boss Rummenigge snubs coach Kovac

Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac has got himself a rebuke from club boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge because of his very optimistic statements about a possible engagement of Leroy Sane. “I didn’t like his statements,” Rummenigge criticized.

“We have a good relationship with Manchester City with our former coach Pep Guardiola, and Sane is still under contract there. Neither optimistic nor pessimistic statements help us here,” said Rummenigge on ZDF before the semi-final of the German record champion in the Audi Cup against Fenerbahce Istanbul (from 8.30 p.m. in the LIVETICKER).

Kovac had previously emphasized Sane’s personalia: “We want him. Our club and the club management are very committed. It’s not easy, or it’d be done by now. But I’m very confident, and I assume we can get him.”

The 23-year-old Sane is the declared favourite of the Bavarians after the departures of Arjen Robben (career end) and Franck Ribery (goal unknown). City team manager Guardiola had not ruled out the possibility of Sane leaving the team recently.
