Bundesliga club Werder Bremen has engaged midfield talent Marin Pudic from the offspring of record champion Bayern Munich. This was officially announced by the Hanseatic League on Thursday. Pudic is initially scheduled for the U23 team in Bremen.
The 19-year-old is a former Croatian U17 international and is moving to the north free of charge. Pudic can be used flexibly in the midfield centre and can take both the offensive and the defensive part.
According to Werder, he had been following his career for some time. Former professional Björn Schierenbeck, who heads the Bremen junior training centre, said: “At the final of the German U17 Championship two years ago, he once again impressively played his way into our focus. Now we have the opportunity to bring him to the Weser.”
Pudic himself explained: “SV Werder Bremen is absolutely the right club for me to take the next step. The people involved, the philosophy of the club and the offensive way of playing were the deciding factors for me to come to Bremen.”
In this season, the teenager, who two years ago with the FCB became German B-Youth Champion, completed 24 compulsory games for Bavaria’s U19, in which he scored four goals and two assists.
