As co-coach for Kovac: Flick’s return to FC Bayern apparently perfect

Hansi Flick (54), who has been national team assistant for many years and former DFB sports director, returns to the German soccer champion Bayern Munich and, according to the kicker assistant of head coach Niko Kovac, will become soccer assistant.

Former professional Flick is to receive a two-year contract to replace Peter Hermann, who has left FC Bayern. Flick is expected to start the season preparation on July 8th in Munich. A confirmation of the commitment on the part of FC Bayern is still pending, however.

From 1985 to 1990 Flick had worn the Bavarian dress as a player. “Hansi has enormous qualities, both in football and in the human field,” said national coach Joachim Löw recently in a kicker interview. Flick had “always been totally loyal” to this part, but had also filled it out critically, Löw had stressed: “He had a good manner and was always highly accepted by players and coaches”.

From July 1, 2017 to February 2018, Flick was Sports Managing Director for Munich-based league competitor TSG Hoffenheim.
