Announcement by Sanches: “No new loan”

Renato Sanches of FC Bayern Munich doubts the sense behind another year under coach Niko Kovac. The Portuguese, on top of that, does not want to take any more loans.

“I don’t want another loan. If I really should go, then complete,” Sanches is quoted in the SportBild. The midfielder had been awarded by FC Bayern to Swansea City in the 17/18 season, but did not benefit from this performance boost.

Rather, he wanted to try his hand under Kovac. But even under the new coach, he could not assert himself: “I want to play more. I don’t know what to do right now either. I don’t know if it makes sense to try it again in Munich.”

Sanches can’t understand Kovac’s thoughts: “Sometimes I asked myself: What is it? All the young players like Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman play. Except me. I showed in training that I’m a good player.”

Of all the young players, he had the “least chance”, Sanches explained. Without the possibility of a loan, he will probably strive for a permanent transfer: “I said goodbye to Niko Kovac. Whether it was just for the summer break or forever, I don’t know at the moment.”
