Bundesliga: Test match blatant: police deployment in cabin wing

In the test match between Hertha BSC and Fenerbahce Istanbul, the Bundesliga team won the match 2-1 and were sent to the cabin wing for police action. While FC Augsburg won against Fenerbahce’s archrival Galatasaray, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim drew twice.

In a friendly match between Berliners in Hartberg and former Brazilian Max Kruse’s new club, Daishawn Redan (59), who recently switched from Chelsea FC to the Old Lady, and veteran Vedad Ibisevic scored the goals to defeat Turkey’s first division team.

However, the joy about the test game success did not last long. During the match, Berlin’s Jordan Torunarigha and Fenerbahce’s Emre were already at loggerheads with each other on several occasions, and after a brawl, they even interrupted the match briefly. After the final whistle, 38-year-old Emre stormed into the catacombs behind the German U21 international.

According to a report in the Bild newspaper, there was another wild conflict there, which could only be resolved by the police. “This is all a joke. The game can be hot. But after the game you should be in control again,” said Herthas Karim Rekik afterwards. Newcomer Dedryck Boyata added: “We wanted to get into the cabin quickly. Emre came sprinting. That was completely superfluous.”

FC Augsburg’s test against Fenerbahce’s archrival Galatsaray was much more positive. Three weeks before the start of the season, the Fuggerstadt team showed good form in the first of two international test matches and beat the Turkish record champion in Innsbruck 4:1 (2:0).

The Augsburg goals were scored by Florian Niederlechner (14), Carlos Gruezo (31), Andre Hahn (53) and Stefano Russo (54). Coach Martin Schmidt’s team is already testing against Spanish first division team FC Villarreal on Friday. The season starts for the Augsburg team on August 17th with vice champion Borussia Dortmund, one week before FCA is challenged in the DFB cup at the fourth league team SC Verl.

TSG Hoffenheim, unlike Augsburg and Hertha, only managed two very different draws in a double test on Thursday. The team of the new coach Alfred Schreuder played in Austria 0:0 against the Italian first league promoted Hellas Verona, immediately afterwards the TSG separated 3:3 (2:2) from the Turkish league fourth Trabzonspor.

Dennis Geiger (21) made his comeback after a long time-out and had the best chance against Verona with a crossbar shot. The midfielder, who had been out of action for a long time due to a groin injury, played his first game since February.

Against Trabzonspor Adam Szalai (42.), Nadiem Amiri (45.) and again Szalai (49.) made a 3:2 from a 0:2, but it was not enough to win. 20 minutes before the end of the game, goalkeeper Philipp Pentke had to be replaced injured.

Hoffenheim will play for the third league team Würzburger Kickers on August 10th to kick off the DFB Cup. Eight days later, Eintracht Frankfurt will play the first points game of the new season.
