The Bundesliga clubs have all started the preparations for the new season again, on Friday there were some test matches on the agenda. At the comeback of Mats Hummels, the BVB celebrated a cantonal victory over FC Schweinberg, as did FC Schalke 04. The two promoted players Union Berlin and SC Paderborn were also victorious, while RB Leipzig went swimming against FC Zurich.
Mats Hummels has celebrated a successful comeback at Borussia Dortmund. The former international, who wore the captain’s armband in the second half, won 10:0 (5:0) with the runners-up at FC Schweinberg, the eight league team, and immediately fit in well with the Westphalian team.
In the Spanish defensive talent Mateu Morey, coach Lucien Favre only presented another new addition against the amateurs. But the Japanese Shinji Kagawa was surprisingly in the squad, which the club will be relinquishing this summer.
Maximilian Philipp (4), who was courted by VfL Wolfsburg, young talent Tobias Raschl (2), Marius Wolf, Morey, Joseph Boyamba and Kagawa met against the Kreisligisten.
Schalke 04 provided for a shooting party at his second test match within the season preparation. Against a city selection from Bottrop, the Königsblauen celebrated a 20:1 (11:0) victory in the second game under their new coach David Wagner.
The Austrian Guido Burgstaller (6), Steven Skrzybski (3), newcomer Benito Raman (2), Sebastian Rudy (2), Amine Harit (2), Jonas Carls (2), Jason Ceka, Görkem Can and Ahmed Kutucu scored for Schalke. Matija Nastasic scored the own goal for the honorary goal of the Bottrop team.
The Schalkers had won their first test game of the new season with 3:1 at the regional league team Rot-Weiß Oberhausen after an unconvincing performance.
RB Leipzig experienced a debacle at the first test of the new season and at the same time at the debut of new coach Julian Nagelsmann. With 1:4 (0:3) the Saxons were defeated by the Swiss capital club.
Already after 30 minutes the Nagelsmann squad was trailing 0:3, which ran up in a 3-3-2-2 with many young players in the defensive area. Especially against the fast switching of the Zurichers the defense of the Leipziger found no means.
In the second half, the hosts were much more offensive, but in the middle of the second half they even caught the fourth goal. Emil Forsberg finally scored the deserved honorary goal from the penalty spot.
The rising team Union Berlin has also won its second test match in preparation for the new Bundesliga season. Coach Urs Fischer’s team defeated the Austrian second division team SV Ried 3:0 (3:0) during their training camp in Windischgarsten.
Marvin Friedrich (9.) and Grischa Prömel (29., 33.) met for the Berliners. Defender Julian Ryerson apparently had to be replaced after about 20 minutes due to an ankle injury. Union had won their first preparatory match against the Danish first division team Bröndby IF with 2:1.
SC Paderborn remained unbeaten in the fourth test game of the season preparation. The promoted team won 7:0 (3:0) against the Westphalian league team Delbrücker SC and scored his third victory this summer, after two days before against the regional league team SC Verl he had only been able to win 2:2.
For the team of coach Steffen Baumgart the American Khiry Shelton (2), Ben Zolinski (2), Marlon Ritter (2) and newcomer Streli Mamba met.
On 3 August, Paderborn will welcome the Italian first division team Inter Milan to its season opening. A week later, the Bundesliga rising star will meet the regional league team SV Rödinghausen in the DFB Cup at the start of the compulsory Bundesliga season.
