Will Aubameyang’s dream of Spain come true?

According to a media report, FC Barcelona are interested in goal scorer Timo Werner from Bundesliga league leaders RB Leipzig. But the German is probably not the only candidate the Catalans have on the cards.

The Catalans are looking for a replacement for star striker Luis Suárez in the current winter transfer period, who has to take a four-month break after a knee operation, the Spanish newspaper “Sport” reported. The Barça club leaders had originally had no plans to buy new players in January, “but the absence of the Uruguayan has radically changed their plans,” the paper said.

The 23-year-old Werner had only extended his contract with Leipzig in August to 2023. Together with Robert Lewandowski of FC Bayern Munich, he is currently the most successful goal scorer in the Bundesliga with 20 goals in 18 games.
