Gareth Bale has no interest in leaving Real Madrid this summer. The Spanish sports newspaper AS reports that the wing forward was with the club bosses a few weeks ago to inform them of his decision. Currently, the Welsh is on the road with the national team.
Bale himself convened a meeting to bring those responsible up to date. A farewell of the left foot already seemed to be fixed, especially since Real trainer Zinedine Zidane is not supposed to be the biggest Fan Bales . The Marca reported at the beginning of May that the Frenchman had told his player that he saw no future for him with the royals.
According to AS, the reason for staying in Madrid is that the ex-Tottenham professional feels at home in the Spanish capital. Bale has been playing for Real for six years now, and after four Champions League titles he probably won’t want to leave. He is even said to have advised the club management not to get involved in potential offers from other clubs in the first place. The 75-time national player’s contract runs until 2022.
If he stays, however, he will have to adjust to even greater competition: With Luka Jovic’s (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Eden Hazard’s (Chelsea FC) changes, two more attackers will enrich the Madrilenians’ top-class storm. The disrupted relationship between 29-year-old Bale and his coach will also not help to generate more playing time. Of the last seven games of the season, Zidane only let him play twice from the start.
