Griezmann to FC Barcelona? “I know where I will play next season.”

France’s superstar Antoine Griezmann has stressed that his future has already been decided. A few weeks ago he announced that he was leaving Atletico Madrid, but he did not name a new club. His goal is still not clear, but he says he already knows it.

“I know where I’ll play next season,” Griezmann said on Saturday in the TV show Telematin. He added, “I also know where I’ll be playing in seven years.” A change of the world champion to FC Barcelona is considered as probable, however, the responsible persons do not want to know officially about it yet. The Catalan newspaper Sport reported that the Catalan players had even spoken out against a transfer of the left foot.

But Griezmann ruled out one club as a new employer: “I can only say it won’t be Miami.” Griezmann has recently been repeatedly associated with the MLS franchise Inter Miami, which was founded by former footballer David Beckham and will be in operation from 2020. FC Bayern Munich and PSG are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old.

Griezmann has been playing with Atletico Madrid since 2014. The attacker did not extend his contract with the Rojiblancos until June 2018, the term of the contract runs until 2023. His exit clause amounts to 120 million euros.

In 257 compulsory games for Atleti, Griezmann scored 133 goals and comes up with 46 templates. At the moment he is on international tour with the “Equipe tricolore”, on Saturday it set a surprising defeat against Turkey in the European Championship qualification.
