FC Chelsea is facing a major upheaval for the coming season. But a transfer barrier makes the Blues’ endeavour much more difficult. SOCCERSCORE gives an overview of all fixed transfers of the Blues.
Chelsea FC finished third in the Premier League in the final but were more than 20 points short of Manchester and Liverpool. That’s why the Blues will be upgraded for the next season to be able to have a say in the title again.
A big problem, however, is the transfer ban imposed on the blues. This came about because FIFA had accused the London club of breaching the rules in 29 cases involving the obligation of minors.
The club may not buy any players after the decision of the association for the next two transfer periods. A decision to which the blues reacted indignantly and appealed accordingly. However, this was rejected by FIFA on 8 May.
Chelsea doesn’t want to be satisfied with this and has therefore appealed accordingly. The club has therefore appealed to the International Court of Sport (CAS).
The process is intended to buy the London club time. A transfer block only comes into force when a final court decision has been made. In 2014 FC Barcelona used this method to secure the services of Luis Suarez and Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The top club is therefore not yet completely incapable of action.
Last winter FC Chelsea signed Christian Pulisic from BVB, but immediately loaned him back to Borussia.
Of course, Eden Harard is the top blues player, leaving London for Madrid for 100 million euros.
Already in January FC Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund agreed on an immediate change of the US national player to the Blues. However, the 20-year-old was loaned to BVB until the end of the season, which is why he will not be joining the London team until this summer. Chelsea transfers 64 million euros to the Schwarz-Gelben for the Pulisics services.
It’s one of the hottest personalities of the transfer summer. After seven years with the Blues, Eden Hazard has turned his back on Chelsea FC and moved to Real Madrid for 100 million euros. The Belgian will receive a contract from the Royals until 2024, and one of the main tasks of the summer for the Londoners will be to absorb and compensate for his quality.
Gonzalo Higuain
For a rental fee of nine million euros, the Argentinian came from Juventus Turin in the winter and was supposed to solve the Londoners’ offensive problems. However, Gonzalo Higuain was not able to really convince in this half year, which is why his future is still uncertain. He himself would probably like to stay, but it seems unlikely that Chelsea would consider a firm commitment. Stand now Higuain returns to Italy again.
Mateo Kovacic.
In contrast to Higuain, Mateo Kovacic quickly played his way into the first eleven of the blues and since then it is hard to imagine life without him. Chelsea would like to sign the midfielder accordingly, but Real Madrid are demanding a 50 million euro redemption.
