United captain arrested after assault on police officers

Harry Maguire, captain of England’s record football champion Manchester United, has been temporarily arrested following an attack on a policeman on the Greek holiday island of Mykonos.

The officials had been called to end a fight between two groups of tourists.

“The footballer insulted a policeman and then beat him up,” a spokesman told the Greek television station.

Together with two British compatriots, the English international was then taken to the police station.
