Champions Leage: Klopp fights: "No broken person."

Jürgen Klopp does not give up as coach after six defeats in six finals. “That doesn’t make me a broken person or anything. For me, life means trying again and again. If only winners can survive, we can all pack up,” said the German team manager of FC Liverpool to Deutsche Welle.

“If God needs me to show that someone loses six finals in a row and he actually tries it for the seventh time, then I’m the perfect person for it,” Klopp explained.

On Wednesday (21:00 live on DAZN) at FC Barcelona there will be no final, but a semi-final first leg of the Champions League. “I’m sure it’s not like anyone thinks, “Oh, Liverpool, let’s get ’em out of here,” Klopp said. “I’ve never played a competitive game against Barcelona before, but I’ve seen so many other teams lose to Barcelona. I always thought it would be interesting to play against the team myself and try it out. And now we’re trying.”

He’ll tell his crew to be brave. But the real challenge is “to have a great potential for frustration. When Barcelona is in possession of the ball, they are difficult to separate from the ball – you have to accept that. But there will also be moments when we have the ball, and then we must immediately radiate danger.”
