Champions League: 90 million! CL winner skims even harder

The winner of the Champions League can earn around 90 million in prizes in the coming season. A team can therefore earn a maximum of 83.45 million euros (with six group wins and the title), plus the bonus from the European Supercup of a maximum of 4.5 million euros. The Europa League winner will receive a maximum of around 28 million euros in bonuses. In addition, the clubs receive further funds from the so-called market pool.

This is the result of the distribution key for the 2019/20 season published by the European Football Union UEFA on Thursday. The premium system has remained stable.

In the premier class, the 32 clubs participating in the group stage each receive 15.25 million euros in entry fees. 2.7 million will be paid out for each win and 900,000 euros for a draw. The achievement of the next lap is remunerated as follows: Quarter-finals: 9.5 million, quarter-finals: 10.5 million, semi-finals: 12 million, final: 15 million – Victory in final: 4 million.

Gross revenues from the Champions League, Europa League and Super Cup are estimated at around 3.25 billion. Of this amount, 295 million euro will be needed to cover organisational and administrative costs.

2.55 billion will be distributed among the participating clubs. 2.04 billion will go to participants in the Champions League and the Supercup and 510 million euros to participants in the Europa League.
