Bundesliga: Zidane confirmed: Hakimi stays with BVB

Real Madrid’s coach has confirmed that Achraf Hakimi will definitely spend the coming season in Dortmund. Newcomer Thorgan Hazard feels very comfortable at BVB. However, Maximilian Philipp’s transfer comes to a standstill.

Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.

Achraf Hakimi had already announced in May that he wanted to return to Real Madrid as soon as possible. Dortmund had lent the 20-year-old in the summer of last year for two years.

But now Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Hakimi will have to wait a little longer. “Achraf will spend another year in Dortmund,” explained the 47-year-old. “He’s a good player, and we know it. It’s good for him to be there another year.”

Last season, the defender played 28 games for BVB across all competitions. He scored three goals and scored seven goals. Its market value is currently estimated at around EUR 30 million.

In summer, Thorgan Hazard moved from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Dortmund for around 26 million euros. The 26-year-old apparently feels extremely comfortable there so far. “I’m very happy to be here,” Hazard told the WAZ. “It’s a fantastic club with big goals.”

It was very easy for him to settle in with the new team. “A lot of people on the team speak French, which helps me a lot. Everyone is very friendly, there is a good atmosphere in the team,” explained the Belgian international.

In the two BVB test matches during the USA trip against Seattle Sounders (3-1) and FC Liverpool (3-2), coach Lucien Favre used his newcomer as a centre forward. “The coach knows me and knows that I like to play centrally,” said the actual left-winger. “The most important thing is that I play at all – where, then, is secondary.”

It is no secret that the people of Dortmund want to reduce their squad. One possible departure is Maximilian Philipp, who is associated with VfL Wolfsburg. According to picture information, the parties were even already in agreement, but now the transfer could come to a standstill.

Although VfL had originally been prepared to pay the required transfer fee of 18 million euros, Josip Brekalo was to be sold beforehand. According to his own statement, he would now like to stay in Wolfsburg in order to further develop “with the new game system at VfL and with the new trainer Oliver Glasner”. The future of Philipp seems to be open again.
