Bundesliga: Teigl extended at FC Augsburg

The Lower Austrian Georg Teigl has extended his contract with the German Bundesliga club FC Augsburg until 30 June 2022. The 28-year-old midfielder, who played in the Bundesliga six times last season, has been with FCA since 2016.

“I really appreciate being able to play in the Bundesliga. FCA gave me a perspective that I would like to use. I am therefore looking forward to the next few years in Augsburg,” said Teigl in a club announcement on Friday.

In addition to Teigl, midfielder Jan Moravek also extended his contract. “We know about the sporting and human qualities of Georg Teigl and Jan Moravek. We are therefore delighted that both of them also see their future in Augsburg and have committed themselves further to FCA by renewing their contracts,” said Stefan Reuter, Managing Director of Sport, commenting on the contract renewals.

However, it is still not clear how Martin Hinteregger will continue. The central defender was awarded to Eintracht Frankfurt in January last year and basically aims for a fixed change to the team of coach Adi Hütter.

But Hinteregger should be here “on 8 July”, quotes Bild Manager Reuter. On this day the FC Augsburg starts the preparation for the coming season.
