VfB Stuttgart officially terminated the contract with former sports director Michael Reschke on Tuesday. As of June 1st, he would be free again for a new job. Reschke had been exempted on 12 February.
According to the picture, Reschke is now facing a commitment at FC Schalke, but not as sports director, but as squad planner – Reschke already played this role at FC Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen.
Reschke and Schalke’s sports director Jochen Schneider appreciate each other. Supervisory Board Chairman Clemens Tönnies also wanted to bring Reschke to Gelsenkirchen a few years ago.
Besides Reschke, Horst Heldt is apparently still a candidate for Schalke – for the post of Sports Director. Schneider and Heldt know each other from their cooperation at VfB Stuttgart.
Paderborn’s Markus Krösche had already cancelled the Schalkern. According to Bild, Union Berlin’s manager Oliver Ruhnert is still in the race alongside Heldt.
Heldt already worked as a manager at FC Schalke (2011-2016).
Eurofighter Marc Wilmots becomes national coach in Iran. This was confirmed by the Iranian association president Kami Rita Sherpa of the news agency IRNA. Wilmots is said to have signed a contract until 2022.
In 1997 he won the UEFA Cup with the squires.
