FC Schalke 04 allegedly has Mario Rui of the SSC Naples in its sights. Meanwhile, Yevhen Konoplyanka is about to change to Fenerbahce. Also included: Suat Serdar is hot for the U21-EM.
Schalke is allegedly interested in a commitment from Mario Rui of the SSC Naples. As the Italian newspaper Tuttosport reports, sports director Jochen Schneider and technical director Michael Reschke have kept an eye on the 28-year-old left-back.
Rui is said to be dissatisfied with his situation in Naples. The Portuguese was less and less successful, especially towards the end of the season under coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Last season Rui, who moved from AS Rome to Naples in 2017 and still has a contract until 2022, played a total of 31 competitive games. He scored one goal and prepared two more goals.
As the kicker reports, the royal blues and Yevhen Konoplyanka have agreed that the left-winger from Ukraine will leave the club this summer.
The Turkish newspaper Hürriyet claims to have heard in this personalia about already ongoing negotiations between Schalke and Fenerbahce. Konoplyanka himself is said to have already agreed to a move to Istanbul.
The 29-year-old Konoplyanka came to Gelsenkirchen from FC Sevilla in 2016 and still has a contract until 2020. Last season he played 21 competitive games on the pitch. Its yield: one gate and two templates.
On Monday, the European Championships in Italy will begin for Germany’s U21 national team with a match against Denmark (9 p.m.). Schalke’s Suat Serdar is also there.
“We worked very well recently and worked hard at the training camp in South Tyrol to make sure we played a successful tournament. The last fine tuning was done in Italy during the last days. Now we are all hot on the fact that the first play is finally kicked off , said Serdar opposite schalke04.de.
And what goals does the 22-year-old midfielder set himself? “We want to survive the group phase, that’s our own claim. I can’t predict what comes after that, because many strong nations will be taking part in the tournament. As always, I want to achieve the maximum and take the next step together with the boys,” says Serdar.
