Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery could apparently switch to the Premier League with Sheffield United. Oliver Kahn explains his reasons for a possible FCB commitment. Hansi Flick could also join us. Here you can find all news and rumours about FC Bayern.
Franck Ribery of FC Bayern Munich has apparently received an offer from the Premier League. The promoted Sheffield United is to lure the Frenchman to the island. That’s what the kicker reports. At the moment, however, the wingman should wait for further offers, he hopes for a bigger club.
Sheffield finished second in the championship behind Norwich City last season and secured his promotion. The team is coached by Chris Wilder, who relies on players who are largely unknown in Germany. The team did not have a real star in its ranks.
So far Ribery had been particularly associated with a move to Australia to the Sydney Wanderers by Markus Babbel. However, this should not be an option any more than a move to the emirate of Qatar. There is no hurry, Ribery can choose his new employer from 1 July free of charge.
Oliver Kahn will soon be reinforcing FC Bayern Munich at the management level. In Hamburg at the “Spielmacherkonferenz” the former goalkeeper explained his motives: “Don’t forget, FC Bayern has been a very, very big part of my life”. He felt “obligation” as well as “gratitude” towards the association.
It was therefore only “logical” that he should deal with a return. From 1 January 2020, according to the latest water level reports, he is to be built up as the successor to CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and will sooner or later steer the fortunes of the German record champion.
Kahn rated the possible transfer of Leroy Sane as positive: “I believe that FC Bayern is already doing the same now and is trying to remain internationally competitive. To compete with clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona or the English clubs is a big task, because the financial difference is huge.”
According to kicker, FC Bayern Munich is in advanced talks with Hansi Flick. The long-time DFB coach could be integrated into the German record champion under Niko Kovac. The 54-year-old would therefore be wanted by the entire sporting leadership and by the coach himself.
For a long time Flick was the assistant of national coach Joachim Löw. After a short intermezzo at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, he is currently without an employer. Last year Kovac was supported by Brother Robert and Peter Hermann. Hermann’s contract expires, the 1st FC Nuremberg should be in negotiations with him.
