Media: Bavaria sets Alaba redemptions – Basket of ManCity

David Alaba’s possible departure from FC Bayern Munich has been stirring things up for months. While the German record champion is fighting for an extension with his top star (contract until 2021), the competition is already in position. Different salary expectations are supposedly the reason why David Alaba could leave FC Bayern in the summer. Instead of around 15 million euros per year as before, the Austrian demands remuneration of over 20 million euros from the record champion. This is what “Bild” reports.

Since the Munich people will probably not pay this sum, Alaba and his advisers are said to have already suggested during the Sané negotiations that the Austrian be sent to Manchester in return for the German national player. Pep Guardiola and City are said to have insisted on Kingsley Coman in the event of a swap. As a result, the deal broke.

Alaba himself would prefer to move to Spain, according to “picture”information. However, the 36 million euros that FC Bayern has now allegedly set could become problematic in this move. Neither Real Madrid nor FC Barcelona currently have the means to accommodate such a costly transfer. Especially Alaba’s salary should deter the two top Spanish clubs.
