Bundesliga: Marco Friedl to stay with Werder Bremen

Marco Friedl has been awarded by Bayern Munich to Werder Bremen since January 2018. The loan ends at the end of the season, but Friedl and Werder are interested in further cooperation.

At the press conference before the match against Dortmund, head of sports Frank Baumann expressed his confidence that there will soon be a long-term solution for Friedl in Bremen: “I believe that we will soon have a solution, we are working on binding Marco to us. He feels the confidence of the coaching team and feels comfortable.” Furthermore, good talks are in progress and both sides expect an agreement in the near future.

In the Bundesliga, the Tyrolean was used four times this season, in the DFB Cup he was allowed to take part twice. However, he will be the successor of Niklas Moisander, who will be suspended on Saturday. Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt gave the 21-year-old a guarantee for the match against Dortmund.

In the summer of 2008, the Tyrolean moved from the Kufstein Youth to the offspring of the German record champion Bayern Munich. Zu Werder was awarded in January 2018 and has played 15 matches for the fighting team so far. The 16th is to follow on the weekend, Werder is in 9th place in the table, five points are missing on the European places.
