Kimmich: “If I were Bavaria, I’d buy Sane”

Bundesliga: Kimmich: "If I were Bavaria, I'd buy Sane"

Joshua Kimmich has spoken out clearly in favour of Leroy Sane switching to FC Bayern. Rumour has it that the FCB is also courting Sadio Mane’s services, but a change is highly unlikely. Problem child Renato Sanches, on the other hand, is to be kept.

Here you can find all news and rumours about FC Bayern Munich.

Joshua Kimmich of FC Bayern Munich has taken the initiative in the bid for Leroy Sane of Manchester City and described a change of his national team colleague as a “real signal”. “I would love to have Leroy at FC Bayern. That’s the right signal. He’s a player who fits perfectly with Bavaria,” the right-back told the picture.

Together with Sane, Kimmich is preparing for the German national team’s upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Belarus (Sat, 20:45 in the LIVETICKER) and Estonia (Tue, 20:45).

Sane is a young German player “with a great potential who hasn’t always been allowed to play at City,” Kimmich continued. A circumstance that Kimmich “could not understand” and which, from the point of view of the 24-year-old, speaks for a change from Sane to the German record champion.

“I think he’s in the mood to play. And he’s playing with us! It is his decision and the task of those responsible to convince such a player,” said Kimmich, for whom it is clear: “I would buy it if I were Bavaria.

Both CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and President Uli Hoeneß had confirmed the FCB’s interest in Sane in recent weeks, but had also made it clear that the realisation of a transfer was “unlikely”. “It’s about amounts that are insane,” said Hoeneß. British media reports that City had rejected an initial offer of 80 million euros denied Rummenigge.

FC Bayern Munich apparently has their eyes on Sadio Mane again. That’s what the L’Equipe reports. The 27-year-old is said to have already been recommended twice by the scouting department of the record champion, but the FCB rejected him both times.

When Mane was still playing for RB Salzburg, there were talks with Michael Reschke, Bavaria’s technical director at the time, who, according to Sportbild, did not think Mane was good enough. Mane then switched to FC Southampton. There, too, he is said to have aroused the interest of the Munich team, but they signed Douglas Costa and Mane to FC Liverpool.

He did not extend his contract with the current Champions League winner until November 2018 until 2023, which is another reason why a move from Mane to FCB is highly unlikely, especially as the Munich team has already confirmed their interest in Leroy Sane from Manchester City.

In this matter, Bavarian President Uli Hoeneß recently spoke of “amounts” that were “madness”. A transfer from Mane should be in similar relief spheres.

FC Bayern Munich apparently wants to keep Renato Sanches beyond the summer despite his confirmed dissatisfaction. That’s what the picture reports on Friday. According to the report, club president Uli Hoeneß will still see the great potential of the 21-year-old and not be prepared to give up the midfielder who has had two difficult seasons behind him.

The Portuguese flirted with a farewell last summer, after he had little time under coach Niko Kovac last season.

“I’m not happy here. I work a lot, but I can’t play. I’d like to play more, maybe at another club. I have to think about that,” Sanches told the kicker and added to the sports picture on Wednesday: “I said goodbye to Niko Kovac on Wednesday. Whether it was just for the summer break or forever, I don’t know at the moment.”

Sanches also made it clear that a new loan like in his first season at FC Bayern to Swansea City was out of the question for him: “If I really go, then it’s complete.”
