Bundesliga: Hummels admits farewell thoughts: "Had it gone on like this ..."

The common future of FC Bayern Munich and Mats Hummels is not secured. Meanwhile, the focus is probably on Ante Rebic again. Thomas Müller has apparently received several inquiries. Here you can find all news and rumours about the FCB.

Mats Hummels has stated in the kicker that he was thinking about saying goodbye to FC Bayern Munich. In the meantime, however, the central defender feels better off again with the record champion: “If things had gone on like they did at the end of the first half, I would have had to think about it, of course. But now it’s working better.”

However, the central defender is not yet completely convinced. He remains cautious until the end of the season: “I look at the whole thing and always see what happens and what the club is planning. If the club says it’s counting on me, everything’s fine.”

With Benjamin Pavard (from VfB Stuttgart) and Lucas Hernandez (from Atletico Madrid), Hummels will have at least two new competitors this summer. Matthijs de Ligt (Ajax Amsterdam) is also repeatedly treated as a newcomer. Under Niko Kovac, Hummels had stayed on the bench unusually often, but has played ten of the possible 14 league games since the beginning of January.

FC Bayern Munich has again focused on Ante Rebic from Eintracht Frankfurt. That’s what the kicker reports. The reason for this is that the desired player Callum Hudson-Odoi is no longer a part of the considerations for the time being due to the Achilles tendon tear.

Whether Rebic, however, is a “real” alternative to the clearly different player type Hudson-Odoi is rather questionable. The same applies to Timo Werner (RB Leipzig), whose transfer will probably only be negotiated after the two outstanding matches against the Red Bulls in the Bundesliga and DFB Cup.

Fiete Arp is a new addition to the Bayern offensive. According to the kicker, the 19-year-old should prove himself in preparation and could be awarded in the event of insufficient advertising for his own person. A loan would also be possible for the young goalkeeper Christian Früchtl, but his contract would first have to be extended beyond 2020.

Whether Früchtl has a long-term future in Munich is open in view of the continuing rumours about Alexander Nübel (FC Schalke 04). The kicker confirms that there are contacts between FC Bayern and the young Schalker. Meanwhile Kai Havertz is supposed to be controversial in the sporting leadership despite the planned sales of Jerome Boateng and Renato Sanches due to his enormous replacement.

According to kicker, FC Bayern Munich has received several requests for Thomas Müller. The attacking player and former international will be a particular focus for Milan clubs, as AC and Inter will be looking to the 29-year-old’s services in equal measure.

According to the report, they’re getting competition from England. The interested clubs of the island are not mentioned by name. Müller’s contract in Munich runs until 2021, under Niko Kovac he ranks among the top performers with currently 41 appearances in the current season.

Niko Kovac will host the obligatory matchday press conference at 13:30 today, Thursday. FC Bayern will meet Hannover 96 on Saturday (3.30 p.m. in LIVETICKER), which is highly threatened by relegation, and wants to score three important points in the race for the title against the underdog.

Among other things, Kovac should be able to clarify the status of Arjen Robben. The Dutchman was in the squad against 1 FC Nürnberg last weekend, but did not play. Whether there will be enough minutes in the home game against Hanover is probably an important issue for the FCB fans.
