Uli Hoeneß has recommended a change to Jerome Boateng. “He needs a new challenge, he seems like a foreign body now. The door is not closed, he has a contract, but as a friend I recommend him to leave the club,” the president of FC Bayern told the ARD during the double celebration.
Boateng had celebrated as already after the won championship only cautiously with his team colleagues. Even after winning the cup on Saturday, he had disappeared into the cabin immediately after the trophies had been handed over.
At the subsequent banquet of the German record holder, the central defender appeared with in-ear headphones.
Should Boateng leave FC Bayern, Benjamin Pavard from VfB Stuttgart and Lucas Hernandez are already two new defenders.
More new members will be added in the coming weeks. “Hasan Salihamidzic is called upon to really get going again tomorrow,” Hoeneß said. Hoeneß did not want to confirm the often quoted 80 million euro limit. Salihamidzic “should first find players who fit in with us. Then we’ll talk about money.”
Leroy Sane is one of the Bavarians’ dream players who would blow up this border.
