Bundesliga: Hinteregger change to Frankfurt short conclusion

Happy end for Martin Hinteregger and Eintracht Frankfurt: As the Bundesliga team announced on its homepage on Tuesday, the Austrian Bundesliga competitor FC Augsburg’s pending contract, which has been pending for weeks, is now imminent. Both associations were largely in agreement “on the switching modalities”, “there are only details to be clarified”, it says.

Hinteregger had been exempted from training by Augsburg on Tuesday in order to complete the obligatory medical check in Frankfurt. The central defender was lent to Frankfurt in the last second half of the season and reached the semi-finals of the Europa League with the Hessen.

Eintracht wanted to bind the 26-year-old firmly afterwards, but the transfer fee of 15 million euros demanded in the meantime was too high for Hessen.

In the meantime, Hinteregger had even talked about being able to imagine staying in Augsburg despite the express wish to change.

Five months earlier, the professional had been suspended from FCA after criticising coach Manuel Baum, and immediately afterwards the loan was made to Frankfurt. However, Baum has since been dismissed and replaced by the Swiss Martin Schmidt.
