“Gnabry the biggest surprise of the season”

Serge Gnabry is already the Player of the Year at the German Football Record Champion for President Uli Hoeneß of Bayern Munich

So far only Erwin Kostedde (1974-77) and Jürgen Wegmann (1985-88) have succeeded in doing this. Gnabry scored ten times for Hoffenheim last season and eleven times for Werder Bremen the year before.

“I don’t see any limit with him”, said Horst Hrubesch, the DFB junior coach of many years, to the kicker: “If he stays healthy, Bavaria will have a lot of fun with him, 15 to 20 goals per season are possible”. Under Hrubesch, Gnabry won Olympic silver in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
