Bundesliga: Gnabry believes in golden generation

National player Serge Gnabry sees the potential in 1995 and 1996 to make a mark on the DFB’s selection for years to come.

“Of course we are aware that we are a conspired group that could shape German football together,” said the offensive star of record champion Bayern Munich in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Today’s national team colleagues such as Leon Goretzka, Niklas Süle, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Timo Werner, Thilo Kehrer, Julian Brandt, Jonathan Tah and Gnabry themselves would “all know each other since the U15 or U16”.

These players would know that “we can be the future, and it’s not a disadvantage that we have a special relationship with each other”.

Kimmich (24) already assumes the role of the leader in this group. “We talk a lot about the game, about my game too, and he says what he thinks about it,” Gnabry said about his club colleague: “Jo is one who is mentally madly focused, he is always at 200 percent, sometimes I say to him: ‘Boy, now go down a gear again! But that’s the way he is, and that’s good, too, that’s why he made it this far.”
