He is looking forward to “a very exciting and attractive task. I’m feeling great anticipation and will do everything I can with my team of coaches to make the season a success,” Hoeneß promises.

He gets support from the sports management: “I’ve been following his path for a long time and have also worked hard to bring him to FC Bayern two years ago. I consider him a great trainer talent,” said Hermann Gerland, Sports Director of the Bayern Campus.

Miroslav Klose could become Hoeneß’s successor in the U19, the former world-class striker is currently training the U17. Hoeneß becomes the amateur successor of Holger Seitz, who also takes on a new role.

Seitz is now part of the sports management team on campus. In the future, 44-year-old Gerland will support Jochen Sauer, the new head of the company. Seitz explained: “Now I am really looking forward to the new task and thank those responsible for the great trust they have placed in me. It was my express wish to be able to take on this new task.”
